SanctScapes: Spaces of the Sublime
The ACMC invites submissions for this year’s exhibition, SanctScapes, presented in conjunction with the 2025 ACMC conference in Vienna.
We welcome painters, sculptors, musicians, video, and media artists to contribute to an exhibition that expands the conversation between art, sound, and the built environment at the heart of one of Europe’s most vibrant cultural capitals. Application deadline: October 16, 2025.

About the Exhibition
SanctScapes will run parallel to the ACMC conference, offering audiences a unique experience that bridges academic discourse with artistic practice. This edition seeks to create immersive spaces where art and research converge, exploring the sublime across sound, image, and form.
Concept
SanctScapes: Spaces of the Sublime explores sanctified spaces—physical, digital, cultural, and spiritual—as zones of resilience, healing, and transformation. Responding to the layered crises of the 21st century, it reframes the sublime as an ethi cal and poetic response to rupture, uncertainty, and the unseen. Through sculpture, sound, text, and spatial interventions, the exhibition reflects on human longing for the sacred while imagining alternative futures grounded in care and hope.
Who Can Apply
We are calling for:
● Media artists working with video, sound, and digital forms (international submissions welcome)
● Musicians and composers contributing original tracks, soundscapes, or experimental scores
● Painters and sculptors from Vienna and around the world
Artists at all stages of their careers are welcome to apply.
Submission Guidelines
Please be prepared to include the following in your application:
● A short artist statement (max. 250 words)
● Portfolio / links to recent work
● Description of the proposed work for exhibition (including technical requirements if applicable)
● Send submission through the google form
Key Dates & Logistics
● Deadline for submissions: October 16, 2025
● Notification of selection: October 19, 2025
● Local artists (Vienna): Works must be delivered on October 30, 2025, at the ACMC conference venue
● International artists: Selected participants are responsible for all shipping and return costs, as well as ensuring their artworks are properly insured and successfully delivered by October 30, 2025 to the ACMC conference venue.
